It would seem the gods are not happy that I write stories, so they make it so my laptops don't last as long as they should. Example, I've had my current one for under two years, and the plug has had issues on two times. The first time, it just stopped working to recharge the laptop. It was an internal issue, the part that recharged it had somehow disconnected inside, so there wasn't much to be done apart from replacing it. A three day task took ten days because they didn't want t owork on it, or something. I don't know what went wrong. Now, it seems like it's acting up again. I've managed to partially correct it, because it seems like the port itself is what has the problem. So my method to correct this is to simply pull the plug a little to the left side and hold it with the cooling pad that was supposed to keep it, well, cool. That didn't work, but, it works as a point where I can put the cord between it and the laptop. That seems to have partially solved the problem. The issue with that is, I don't know how long that's going to last. So I'm going to go a step above what I did the last time. I'm going to buy a new laptop. I'll go and get it today, and hopefully have it ready by this afternoon at the earliest. If that doesn't work out, tomorrow will have me with something new. I'm thinking on an Ultrabook, but if not, then something that can run for a whole day nonstop, so I don't have to deal with issues like this anymore.
I've saved all of my writing to a flash drive, as well as pictures I use for inspirational purposes, so I won't fall behind on that. I'll probably buy a second flash drive while I'm up there and upload the information to those as well. That way I'll be absolutely sure I haven't lost a single thing. I'm honestly ticked off, because PC Laptops said this laptop could run as long as I needed with no issues. I recently had it looked at, and I was told that my laptop's cooling fan was inefficient for the design. Built in obsolesence, that's what it is... Obsolescence? Obso... It's pronounced 'Bob', I know that much about the word, at least. Regardless of this all, if it's not all ready by Friday, I'll have uploaded every story onto a desktop and I'll be able to post. Sadly, I have such a hard time posting here on DeviantArt it just isn't going to work out anymore. So from here on, I'm only posting on Fanfiction.net, if anyone's interested in Pokemon fanfiction, Digimon, and some One Piece, among other things that are shelved for now.
While I'm here, I haven't reviewed for MLP for a few weeks. Honestly, I just couldn't bring myself to do it. I'll try for this Saturday, but if not, well, it's because I'm trying to improve my reviewing skill.
Also while I'm here, those of you who read this, please look at
's art and comment. It's good stuff, and he wants criticism. So do that...
And for my new laptop, how are those Ultrabooks? I don't want anything that gets too hot. Literally, it'll have to be on upwards of fourteen hours a day, sometimes upwards of twenty four. If I come up with a story idea, I don't want to lose it, so it has to be able to stay on for as long as I'm awake and near it. I don't need that kind of battery life, but I want it to be able to take the heat. I've got a cooling pad, so that should help, but I need to be sure it's not going to burn my hand when I pick it up. And being able to play games on it (Fallout and Fallout 2 (Yes, the original games) for example) would be a major plus. Last for this thought, how good is the Windows 8? I'm working on Windows 7 Professional, and I'm very used to it.
Last but not least for this journal, I'm accepting OCs for most of my stories. Big Top Balancing Act, Digital Sheriff, On Changing Tides, The Man with a Gallade's Arm: New Journey, and Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Jack's Journey are all OC friendly. So try to think of an OC that might be good, and then go to my Fanfiction.net profile, copy and paste the OC chart listed there, fill it out, and send me a character. Tell your friends. I'll get back to you if I will or won't use the character. Send it on Fanfiction if you have an account, but if you don't, send me a note here about it. I promise you, if you send me an OC, I will reply about it, whether or not I'll use it. Just don't be surprised if they don't turn out precisely as you wanted. My writing style is 'go with the flow, let the story write itself'. If your character doesn't make it, I'll be sure to let you know.
